Как по мне, эта книга не о любви, а о ненависти. Любовь не делает из человека монстра. Ещё одно наблюдение - богатые благородные люди мрут, как мухи, в молодости, а слуги поднимают несколько поколений. Я так думаю, потому что работают все время. Или не рожают... Две женщины в книге умерли при родах, кошмар, конечно.

Тяжелая книга о токсичных английских семействах, которые постоянно строят друг другу козни. Однако, в ней есть некоторая сатирическая направленность, как в романах Салтыкова-Щедрина и элементы готики. Несомненно, «Джей Эйр» Шарлотты Бронте лучше, так как легче воспринимается и имеет более ясно выраженную идею.
